Discovery communications are for scheduling, payment, check-in, reminders, and non-emergency follow-up. They are not appropriate for urgent medical needs or detailed clinical information.
Consent To Contact
By submitting a discovery request, you authorize the participating practice and its service providers to contact you using the phone number, email address, and other contact details you provide for discovery-related purposes.
Communications may include booking confirmation, rescheduling, cancellation, payment checkout, reminders, secure video join links, follow-up instructions, and practice-specific next steps.
Communication Channels
| Channel | Possible Use |
|---|---|
| Call | Scheduling clarification, missed-call follow-up, identity confirmation, or switching to a phone-based discovery consultation. |
| Text | Short reminders, confirmation notices, join-link prompts, rescheduling notices, or contact requests where enabled by the practice. |
| Confirmation details, payment links, video links, cancellation or rescheduling notices, and non-sensitive follow-up instructions. |
Risks And Limits
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier and plan.
- Ordinary email and text messages may not be encrypted end to end and may be visible to others with access to your account, device, carrier account, or notifications.
- Do not send medical records, photos, lab results, symptoms, medication changes, emergency information, card numbers, passwords, or other sensitive details by ordinary call, text, or email unless the practice gives you an approved secure workflow.
- Delivery is not guaranteed. Spam filters, blocked numbers, carrier filtering, device settings, and incorrect contact details can prevent messages from arriving.
Changing Preferences
You can ask the practice to update your discovery contact details or communication preferences. Opting out of certain communications may make it harder or impossible to complete scheduling, payment, reminders, or secure video check-in.
If an automated text workflow provides opt-out instructions, you may use those instructions. Some transactional or legally required messages may still be sent when needed to complete or document a request.
